AP Home Minister Anitha Urges Police with Past Government Loyalties to Step Down

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha suggested that police officers who still hold ideologies from the previous government should step aside. She emphasized that the police should work in favor of the people. Anitha stated that those who continue to behave as they did previously should voluntarily move aside. She added, "Please... if you step aside, those who will work will come forward. We are not asking you to work for Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, or the NDA. Work for the people."

Speaking to the media after assuming her duties as Home Minister at the Secretariat, she mentioned that she took on the responsibilities with the blessings of the people of Andhra Pradesh and their leader Chandrababu. She expressed gratitude to the people of Payakaraopeta who blessed her and assured that she would perform her duties efficiently.

Anitha announced plans to change the names of Disha Police Stations. She warned that strict actions would be taken against those who hurt sentiments on social media. She promised that within a hundred days, the transportation of marijuana and drugs would be significantly reduced. Anitha also stated that they would investigate the illegal cases filed during the previous government's tenure and assured that if the victims request to reopen these cases, they will definitely do so.
