In a significant development today, amidst the elections in Andhra Pradesh scheduled in 8 days, the Election Commission has transferred AP DGP K. Rajendranath Reddy. The action follows complaints from opposition parties taken into consideration by the Election Commission. The commission ordered DGP Reddy to be relieved from his duties immediately and specified that he should not be assigned election-related responsibilities.
