Minister Konda Surekha Warned by Election Commission Over Comments on KTR

The Election Commission of India has issued a warning to Telangana State Minister Konda Surekha regarding her comments made against former Minister and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on the 1st of this month. The Commission advised her to be cautious and responsible in her speeches, especially considering the electoral code of conduct. As a prominent campaigner and a minister, she was reminded to uphold a higher standard of responsibility. The warning was prompted by a complaint filed by the BRS regarding her remarks about KTR.

During a press meet in Warangal on April 1, Konda Surekha alleged that many heroines were blackmailed through phone tapping, and many officials were scapegoated, losing their jobs and ending up in jail. She also made controversial comments about KTR's sister, Kavitha, visiting a significant religious site, which were part of the remarks reported to the Election Commission by individuals including Karne Prabhakar and Dasoju Shravan.
