Kadapa : Continuing his electoral campaign, Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), addressed a massive gathering this afternoon at Puttaparthi Circle in Proddatur, Kadapa District. During his speech, he asserted that it was certain Jagan would be heading home this time. He challenged Chief Minister Jagan by asking, "What have you done for Rayalaseema in these five years?" and criticized Jagan's approach towards Rayalaseema, associating it with violence and political murders, while highlighting that for TDP, Rayalaseema signifies water, projects, and industries.
"A Bigger Actor than Kamal Haasan"
Chandrababu Naidu critiqued Jagan's lack of understanding of the value of water and projects, questioning his awareness of key projects like Srisailam and Rajolibanda. He sarcastically commented that Jagan is a bigger actor than Kamal Haasan, referring to him humorously as "Karakatta Kamal Haasan" for his pretense of knowledge.
In the rally, Chandrababu Naidu also spoke about the disillusionment of people with Jagan, citing a shift in trend and assured that the defeat of YSRCP in the elections is certain. He praised Pawan Kalyan for his commitment towards the state's development and justice for the poor, emphasizing that Jagan, who he deemed corrupt and ruthless from a young age, must not win.
He pointed out the state's debt of Rs. 12 lakh crores, drawing an analogy to a water tank to explain the mismanagement under Jagan's rule. He criticized Jagan's inability to generate wealth and highlighted the potential job creation and economic boost that would have resulted from projects like the Kadapa Steel Plant, attributing the success of bringing Kia Motors to Rayalaseema as part of his vision for development.
Reflecting on the last elections, Chandrababu Naidu recalled Jagan's emotional manipulation about his family tragedies, which swayed the public's opinion. Now, realizing the truth, the people of Rayalaseema are seeing through the deception.
Despite YSRCP's win in 49 out of 52 seats in Rayalaseema last time, he questioned Jagan's contributions to the region, accusing him of focusing solely on protecting his associate, Avinash Reddy, instead of the development of Rayalaseema.
Chandrababu highlighted TDP's commitment to irrigation projects in Rayalaseema, spending Rs. 12,000 crores and aiming to bring Godavari waters to the region through the Polavaram project. He lamented that his vision for a prosperous Rayalaseema was thwarted by Jagan's governance.
He addressed the local sentimentality towards Jagan, urging people to see beyond regional, caste, and religious affiliations and recognize the harm caused by Jagan's administration. Chandrababu vowed to transform Rayalaseema into a "gem" of the state, appealing to the people to understand the issues rather than focusing on communal ties.
