AP High Court gave green signal to Machilipatnam Port: CM Jagan

Krishna, August 25: Addressing a public meeting after crediting Rs 193.31 crore into the accounts of 80,546 weavers under the fourth edition of YSR Nethanna Nestham scheme at Thotamula village in Pedana constituency, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said that he received good news as he was getting ready to speak. He announced that the Andhra Pradesh High Court gave green signal to the construction of Machilipatnam Port.

In 2019, Navayuga Group had filed a petition in the High Court after the YSRCP government terminated the contract awarded to it by the previous TDP government. The Jagan government offered contract to Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited for quoting lower bid to build Machilipatnam port.

The CM stated that he will soon lay foundation stone to Machilipatnam Port. The YSRCP government will construct greenfield port at Machilipatnam in more than 3,800 acres. The new port will be built with an estimated investment of Rs 11,464 crores in two phases.
