Bhimavaram: Bullet removed from monkey’s body after surgery

West Godavari, July 20: Veterinary doctor Tejas performed a surgery and removed a bullet from monkey’s body at Bhimavaram. According to reports, some persons saw monkey injured by stray dogs lying on the side of the road at Cherukuwada village in Undi mandal. They informed health condition of monkey to the doctor and shifted the animal to Bhimavaram for treatment.
 
Tejas came across bullet wound while he was treating injuries made by dogs. He said health of monkey is stable after surgery. However, he did not lodge a complaint with police as he was not sure whether it was a bullet or pellet. Some say that people guarding fish ponds use air guns to scare animals. Probably, one of them fired at monkey with an air gun, they said.
