Altercation between TDP chief and cops during Vizag tour; TDP leaders held
Visakhapatnam: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Visakhapatnam created tension when his bid to go to Rushikonda resorts was stopped by the police on Thursday. He was on his way to inspect the green resort structures in Rushikonda when he was stopped by the police at Endada Junction.
Chandrababu's convoy was stopped by the police. When Naidu questioned the police about why he was being stopped, they clarified that the TDP leaders and workers, who are accompanying, the TDP chief, were not allowed to go to Rushikonda. While the Chandrababu convoy was actually supposed to be on the Beach Road, the police turned towards the Endada and stopped at the junction.
There was an altercation between the police and Chandrababu Naidu. Police arrested the TDP leaders and activists, who were marching toward Rushikonda. TDP women's wing president Vangalapudi Anita was also arrested by the police and evacuated from there. It is learnt that about 200 policemen were deployed at Rushikonda on receiving about Chandrababu’s tour.
