Fourth corona wave! Telangana on high alert, to make wearing mask must

As India saw 90 per cent jump in daily COVID-19 cases, the Telangana government sounded high alert and planning to make wearing mask compulsory for the people. Health experts are warning that there is high possibility of India witnessing fourth wave with new variant of Omicron. 
 
According to officials, India registered 2,183 new cases today and 214 have succumbed to virus, a jump of 90 per cent in positive cases compared to Sunday. The national capital alone recorded 517 fresh Covid cases. Some of the schools were closed in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida after several students have tested positive in the last few weeks.
 
Doctors are advising the people to be careful in the wake of fourth wave signals. The Telangana government lifted restrictions imposed to stop the spread of coronavirus as positivity rate dropped significantly. The state government may reimpose restrictions in a phased manner after making an assessment.
