YS Sunitha Demands Justice on YS Vivekananda Reddy’s Death Anniversary
YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, YS Sunitha, paid tribute to her father on his death anniversary. She visited his memorial in Pulivendula, offering prayers along with her husband, Rajasekhar Reddy, and other family members.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha expressed anguish that even after six years, justice had not been served in the murder case of her father. She stated that the trial had not yet begun in the CBI court and alleged that except for one accused, all other suspects were moving freely.
Sunitha further claimed that her family was suffering more than the accused in the case. She expressed concern over the deaths of key witnesses, stating that she had suspicions regarding these incidents. She urged the government to take responsibility for protecting witnesses and the accused. She reiterated her commitment to fighting for justice until the case was resolved.
YS Vivekananda Reddy was murdered in his residence in Pulivendula on March 15, 2019, during the general election period. The previous night, he had conducted a political campaign in Jammalamadugu, Kadapa district, before returning home. Initially, his death was portrayed as a heart attack. However, later investigations confirmed it as a murder.
On May 30, 2019, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Before assuming office, he had filed a petition in court requesting a CBI investigation into the case but withdrew it after becoming Chief Minister. Following this, Sunitha demanded a CBI probe into the murder.
