Women Addicted to Alcohol: Husbands File Complaints with Police

Residents of Kondaguda village in Pujariput Panchayat, located in the Borigumma block of Odisha's Koraput district, have approached the police and excise officials with an unusual complaint. A group of men from the village lodged a grievance stating that their wives had become addicted to alcohol, disrupting their households and spending all their earnings on liquor.

The husbands alleged that some local youth were engaged in brewing and selling illicit liquor, which had led to widespread alcohol addiction among women in the village. They expressed distress over their family lives deteriorating, stating that their hard-earned wages were being wasted on alcohol. The men voiced concerns that if the situation persisted, their families would struggle to survive, and their children's future would be jeopardized.

The complainants urged authorities to take strict action against those involved in the illegal liquor trade to safeguard their families and the village. Officials have acknowledged the complaint and are preparing to take necessary measures in response.
