One Model School in Every Constituency of Andhra Pradesh: Minister Nara Lokesh

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education Nara Lokesh has directed officials to take steps to establish a model school in every assembly constituency in the state, adhering to the highest standards in the country. As part of the AP Model of Education, he emphasized the implementation of the Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh (LEAP) Program. Lokesh held a review meeting yesterday with officials from the departments of school education, intermediate education, and higher education to discuss the necessary measures and planning for this initiative.

The minister also announced that a workshop with legislators would be conducted on March 3 to discuss alternatives to Government Order (GO) 117 under the AP Model of Education. He further instructed officials to arrange a meeting with university vice-chancellors, under the leadership of the Governor, to deliberate on reforms in higher education, improvements in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings, and other related matters.

Lokesh directed officials to take steps for the revival of postgraduate (PG) fee reimbursement and to accelerate the construction of the AI University and Sports University in Amaravati.

The meeting was attended by School Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar, Director Vijayaramaraju, Intermediate Education Director Kritika Shukla, Samagra Shiksha Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao, Higher Education Council Chairman K. Madhumurthy, College Education Director Narayana Bharat Gupta, Skill Development Corporation MD Ganesh Kumar, and representatives from KPMG, including Narayanan Ramaswamy, Sowmya Velayudham, and V. Madhavan.
