Vishwak Sen Apologizes for Prudhvi’s Comments

The pre-release event of the film Laila, starring Vishwak Sen in the lead role, was held last night in Hyderabad. Megastar Chiranjeevi attended as the chief guest. However, remarks made by veteran comedian "30 Years Industry" Prudhvi at the event have sparked widespread controversy.
During his speech, Prudhvi mentioned that he played the character of Mekala Satyam in the film. He humorously stated that during shooting breaks, he counted the goats around him and found 150, but after being released from jail in the film, only 11 remained, leaving him puzzled. He also claimed that Laila features several such grand scenes.
However, these comments have drawn strong criticism from supporters of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). The hashtag #BoycottLaila began trending on social media, with many users calling for a boycott of the film. Amid rising concerns over potential damage to the film’s prospects, lead actor Vishwak Sen stepped forward to address the issue.
Vishwak Sen publicly apologized for Prudhvi’s remarks, stating that they were made during the event when he was not present. However, since the comments were made at his film’s pre-release event, he felt it was necessary to offer an apology. He clarified that Prudhvi’s statements were his personal opinions and should not be associated with the film or its team.
Vishwak Sen further stated that, contrary to Prudhvi’s claims, the film does not feature as many goats. He also emphasized that Prudhvi has no personal or professional connection with him beyond being an actor in the film.
Expressing his frustration, Vishwak Sen revealed that over 22,000 tweets had been posted with the #BoycottLaila hashtag, and some individuals were even threatening to leak the film’s high-definition print on its release day. "What enmity do you have with me? What wrong have I done? Please don’t punish our film for someone else’s mistake," he pleaded.
