Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced plans to build a "Future City" as the fourth major city in Hyderabad, aiming to make it globally competitive with cities from other countries. Speaking at the CII National Council meeting organized at the CII Green Business Center, the Chief Minister emphasized his goal to transform Hyderabad into a pollution-free city. He outlined his vision of developing the state into a "Rising Telangana."
The Chief Minister noted that Hyderabad is preparing to tackle natural disasters effectively, aiming to transform it into a flood-free city. He revealed plans to construct radial roads connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) with the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR). The area between ORR and RRR is set to become a manufacturing hub, fostering industrial growth. He further stated that the government's focus is on skill development and job creation to boost the state's economy.
Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s lack of a coastal region and explained the government's initiative to establish a dry port to overcome this limitation. He expressed optimism that significant progress could be achieved if companies come forward to invest in the region.
As part of efforts to reduce pollution, the Chief Minister announced the introduction of 3,200 electric buses into the state transport system. Additionally, he said that registration and road tax for electric vehicles have been waived to promote cleaner transportation options.
