High Court Permits KTR to Bring Lawyer for ACB Probe, Sets Conditions

The Telangana High Court granted permission to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) to be accompanied by his lawyer during the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) inquiry related to the Formula E-car case. However, the court rejected a request from KTR’s legal counsel to record the proceedings via video or audio. The court directed KTR to attend the ACB inquiry along with his lawyer and stated that any further concerns could be addressed by approaching the court again.

The High Court issued these orders while hearing a lunch motion petition filed by KTR, seeking permission to bring his lawyer during the ACB inquiry. Though permission was granted, the court imposed specific conditions.

According to the court, only KTR and the ACB officials will be allowed inside the inquiry room, and his lawyer will not be permitted to sit with him during the questioning. Instead, the High Court suggested that the lawyer could wait in the library room at the ACB office. The Additional Advocate General informed the court that the lawyer could monitor the inquiry from the library room, following which the court approved the arrangement.
