Nitish Kumar Reddy Honored with Cash Prize by Andhra Cricket Association
Nitish Kumar Reddy, the Telugu cricketer making waves in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series, has earned widespread recognition for his stellar performances. Currently the top scorer for India in the series, Reddy marked his first Test century with an exceptional display of batting during the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
In acknowledgment of his achievements, the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has announced a cash prize for him. ACA President and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (commonly known as Kesineni Chinni) declared a ₹25 lakh incentive. He also stated that the prize would soon be presented by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Praising Reddy’s all-round performance in the BGT, Kesineni Chinni lauded him as a role model for today’s youth and emphasized the state government’s commitment to supporting young cricketers. He also highlighted ACA’s efforts to enhance cricket infrastructure, including the development of Visakhapatnam Stadium to host IPL matches.
Furthermore, Chinni revealed ACA’s plans to establish an IPL team for Andhra Pradesh and announced the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium in the capital city of Amaravati.
