Manmohan Singh Passes Away; Central Government Declares Week-long Mourning

Former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has passed away. His demise has plunged the nation into grief, transcending political affiliations. In light of this profound loss, the Central Government has taken a significant decision to observe a week-long period of mourning.

All government events scheduled for tomorrow (December 27) have been canceled. A meeting of the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be held in Delhi on Friday at 11 AM to pay respects and discuss arrangements.

The government has also decided that Dr. Manmohan Singh’s last rites will be conducted with full state honors, reflecting his significant contributions to the nation.
