Olympics in Hyderabad? Harish Rao Questions Revanth Reddy’s Credibility

Former Minister Harish Rao strongly criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of engaging in diversionary politics by filing a case against K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao mocked Revanth Reddy, claiming, “He has neither vision nor wisdom.” He alleged that Revanth Reddy's thoughtless decisions were tarnishing the reputation of Telangana.

Harish Rao stated that while an international racing event was scheduled to be held for three years, it was abruptly canceled mid-term. Taking a jibe, he said, “This hollow man claims he will host the Olympics in Hyderabad in 2036. It’s like someone who can’t move a pebble boasting about lifting a mountain.”  Harish Rao further accused Revanth of canceling a three-year agreement for an international event, only to publicize the ambitious yet unrealistic claim of hosting the Olympics.

He also noted that the abrupt cancellation of the event caused significant losses, prompting a case against the Telangana government in London. Harish Rao expressed concerns that if the case is lost, it would further damage Telangana's reputation on the global stage. He emphasized that this is not merely an issue concerning K.T. Rama Rao but one that affects the four crore people of Telangana.

Drawing an analogy, Harish Rao compared the case against KTR to “digging a mountain and finding a mouse,” claiming that the action was a desperate attempt made a year after assuming office. He also criticized Revanth Reddy’s leadership, alleging that his governance had deterred investments and left the state without avenues for job creation.
