Tirumala Temple Darshan in One Hour: Pilot Project Launched for a Week

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu announced an initiative aimed at providing Tirumala temple devotees a hassle-free darshan experience within one hour, eliminating the need for long queue waits. To achieve this, a pilot project has been launched today, set to run for a week.

B.R. Naidu outlined the darshan process, emphasizing the role of advanced technology. Devotees will first register using their Aadhaar numbers and undergo facial recognition. Upon verification, they will receive a receipt along with a token specifying their allotted darshan time.

At the scheduled time, devotees must report to the Vaikuntham Queue Complex, where another round of facial recognition will confirm their identity before they are allowed into the queue. This streamlined process ensures that devotees can complete their darshan and exit the temple within one hour.

TTD plans to set up 45 counters for token issuance and aims to expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, reducing reliance on manual staff. Four international tech companies have come forward to provide AI solutions, currently under evaluation.

If the pilot project succeeds, B.R. Naidu stated that the proposal would be formally approved at the upcoming TTD Board meeting on December 24.
