₹430 Crore Charlapalli Railway Terminal Ready for Inauguration

The newly constructed Charlapalli Railway Terminal near Secunderabad, built to meet growing transportation demands, will be inaugurated on December 28. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister for Mines and Coal Kishan Reddy will preside over the inauguration ceremony.

Developed at a cost of ₹430 crore, the state-of-the-art terminal features nine platforms, six escalators, two foot-over-bridges, ticket reservation counters, and general ticket counters. Passenger amenities include restaurants, food courts, and air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned waiting lounges. Free Wi-Fi services will also be available for commuters.

The terminal is designed to reduce the passenger load on Secunderabad Railway Station. It will handle the operations of 50 trains daily—25 incoming and 25 outgoing. Authorities estimate that around 50,000 passengers will use the facility daily, making it a critical transportation hub for the region.
