Past YSRCP Government Misused ₹4,000 Crore in Jal Jeevan Mission: Pawan Kalyan

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan launched sharp criticism against the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, alleging that ₹4,000 crore was misused under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He made these remarks during a state-level workshop on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, organized by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department in Vijayawada.

Addressing the gathering, Pawan Kalyan emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening the Jal Jeevan Mission. He highlighted that many people continue to face water scarcity and stressed that resolving this issue should be a top priority.

He announced plans to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the end of January and submit proposals to the Union Minister for Jal Shakti. “The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched with the aim of providing every individual with access to clean drinking water,” Pawan Kalyan stated.

He further mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisions supplying an average of 55 liters of clean water per person per day. Pawan Kalyan added that after the coalition government came to power, they requested ₹70,000 crore from the central government to support the initiative
