Chandrababu Suggested Megha Krishna Reddy to Adopt Gudlavalleru Mandal
On Saturday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the Sri Bhoo Sametha Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Dokiparru village, Gudlavalleru Mandal, Krishna District. During his visit, Chandrababu praised the significant contributions of Megha Krishna Reddy and his wife Sudha in developing the temple. He commended their efforts in enhancing the temple premises and sanctum sanctorum, stating that their work has created an environment conducive to conducting traditional Brahmotsavam celebrations. Chandrababu also expressed his wishes for divine blessings upon their family.
The Chief Minister mentioned that both Megha Krishna Reddy and Sudha hail from Krishna District. He stated that he suggested the couple adopt Gudlavalleru Mandal under the P4 model (People, Public, Private Partnership for Progress). Chandrababu explained that Gudlavalleru Mandal comprises 14,821 families with a population of 51,573, while their native village, Dokiparru, consists of 2,050 families and a population of 5,909.
Chandrababu emphasized that the focus should be on the 10–15% of families living below the poverty line in the Mandal. He added that efforts should aim at improving their income levels, for which a structured formula and guidelines are being prepared. He urged the couple to appoint a CEO to oversee developmental activities and highlighted the support they would receive from local MLA Venigandla Ramu, the District Collector, and the government. He assured that all welfare schemes from the government would continue uninterrupted and suggested that proper planning and execution would foster rural development.
However, Chandrababu’s engagement with Megha Krishna Reddy has sparked discontent among some TDP workers. They expressed dissatisfaction, citing Megha Krishna Reddy’s alleged association with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and accusations of supporting Jagan Mohan Reddy’s efforts to target TDP. The party workers questioned Chandrababu's praise for someone they perceived as politically aligned with the opposition.
Chandrababu, known for his consistent focus on state development and non-vindictive approach, recently called for corporate companies to adopt villages and schools under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As part of this vision, he entrusted Megha Krishna Reddy with the opportunity to adopt and develop an entire Mandal, ensuring corporate collaboration with government efforts to foster progress. He described this move as a positive step for the state’s development.
