Eturunagaram Encounter: Seven Maoists Dead, SP Reacts

In a significant development, Telangana police dealt a severe blow to Maoists operating in the region. Seven Maoists were killed in a major encounter this morning in the forested area of Eturunagaram, Mulugu district. SP Shabarish provided detailed information about the incident and ongoing efforts to maintain law and order.

According to SP Shabarish, Maoists recently killed two innocent civilians in Vajedu, prompting heightened vigilance in the district. To prevent further incidents, police intensified patrolling activities. During one such patrol this morning, the police team encountered Maoists in the forest.

The SP stated that despite issuing warnings to surrender, the Maoists opened fire on the police. In self-defense, the police returned fire, leading to the deaths of seven Maoists. The deceased individuals were identified as members of the outlawed Maoist group.
