Allu Arjun's Pushpa: A Missed Opportunity for Mahesh Babu

Pushpa—this brand is no longer just national but has reached international levels. The film Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, achieved pan-India success and garnered applause globally. The dialogue “Pushpa... Pushparaj Thaggede Le” and Pushpa Raj's swag have been widely imitated by celebrities and cricketers alike.

Following the overwhelming response to the first part, Allu Arjun and Sukumar have doubled their energy to create Pushpa: The Rule. The film, which has completed all production activities, is set to release worldwide on December 5th. Even before its release, Pushpa 2 has generated greater business hype than the first part.

Allu Arjun’s mannerisms, dialect, and the swagger of Pushpa Raj have deeply impressed audiences. The film has reportedly secured pre-release business of around ₹1000 crores, creating massive expectations. Every promotional content released so far for Pushpa 2 has been a super hit.

Allu Arjun is actively participating in nationwide promotions, garnering immense attention and boosting the film’s publicity. With this film, Allu Arjun has solidified his craze across India, and analysts predict that his stardom and market value will double after Pushpa 2.
An interesting tidbit about this project is that after the blockbuster Rangasthalam, director Sukumar originally planned to collaborate with Mahesh Babu for Pushpa.

Mahesh Babu reportedly took a long time to decide after hearing the story. While Sukumar waited for Mahesh’s final decision, Mahesh announced his next projects with other directors—Maharshi with Vamshi Paidipally and Sarileru Neekevvaru with Anil Ravipudi.

Unwilling to wait further, Sukumar approached Allu Arjun with the story of Pushpa. Bunny (Allu Arjun) immediately gave the green signal, and the project went on floors with him in the lead. The rest, as they say, is history. The unprecedented success of Pushpa and the immense buzz surrounding Pushpa 2 need no further explanation.
