The annual Karthika Brahmotsavam of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru at Tiruchanur is set to be celebrated grandly from November 28 to December 6, 2024. The event commenced on Wednesday night with the traditional Ankurarpana ceremony conducted between 6 PM and 8:30 PM, including Punyahavachanam, Rakshabandhanam, Senadhipathi Utsavam, and other rituals.
TTD Executive Officer (EO) Sri J. Syamal Rao announced that all preparations for the festival are complete. Speaking to the media after inspecting the arrangements with officials, he highlighted extensive measures taken for devotees, including decorative lighting, queue systems, and LED screens installed around Tiruchanur and Padma Pushkarini for live viewing.
Over 50,000 devotees are expected daily, with amenities such as drinking water, snacks, temporary toilets, and signboards arranged. For the Panchami Theertham on December 5, special holding points have been set up, and additional food options like sugar pongal will be distributed along with traditional meals.
The processions and cultural events will feature participation from artists across seven states, and the Ammavari vahana sevas will be broadcast live in HD quality on SVBC, YouTube, and online radio. Tight security involving 1,500 police personnel and vigilant staff has been arranged for the main events, including Chakrasnanam on December 6 at Padma Pushkarini.
