Will Trump Bring Good News for Adani After His Swearing-In?
Prominent Indian-American attorney Ravi Batra has made significant remarks regarding the $265 million bribery case filed against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani in the United States. Describing the case as baseless and flawed, he suggested that it might be withdrawn after Donald Trump assumes office as President.
Attorney Ravi Batra noted that every new President forms a new team. He added that Trump, who is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20 next year, could withdraw any prosecution lacking substantial merit. He emphasized that the law should not be misused to target individuals or adversaries.
Given this scenario, it is possible that the Adani issue might be raised with the new administration. Batra explained that if criminal or civil charges are found to be flawed, the incoming President Trump, along with his new Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), could potentially withdraw such cases.
