A.R. Rahman Is Like a Father to Me: Bassist Mohini Dey
Oscar-winning music composer A.R. Rahman and his wife Saira Banu recently announced their separation after 29 years of marriage. Following this, bassist Mohini Dey revealed her separation from her husband, leading to baseless rumors linking her with A.R. Rahman.
The rumors sparked negativity on social media, prompting Mohini Dey to strongly refute them. She recently reiterated her stance, saying A.R. Rahman is like a father to her.
"I have worked in A.R. Rahman’s team for the past eight years. He is like a father to me," Mohini stated. She expressed her pain over such rumors, adding that Rahman has always treated her like one of his daughters, as they are of the same age group.
Mohini credited Rahman for playing a significant role in her career and called him a role model. She condemned the rumors, urging people to respect her privacy and stating that such allegations should be treated as criminal offenses.
Rahman’s children also addressed the issue, dismissing the rumors as baseless. His son Ameen said the attempt to link his parents' separation with Mohini Dey was unfounded, while Rahman’s daughter Raheema took to Instagram to condemn the speculation.
Saira Banu’s legal representative Vandana Shah also confirmed that these rumors had no truth.
