The Story Behind Nani’s Rejection of Lucky Bhaskar

Lucky Bhaskar, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary, directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, was recently released during Diwali to a positive response from audiences. This clean family entertainer, set in the banking sector, has resonated well with viewers. The film tells the intriguing story of Bhaskar, a bank employee who cleverly exploits loopholes in the banking industry to amass wealth, with a narrative that particularly appeals to middle-class families.

Before Lucky Bhaskar, Venky Atluri directed Sir with Dhanush, which was also a success. Reportedly, Venky initially pitched Sir to Telugu actors, but when no one stepped forward, he chose Tamil actor Dhanush, showcasing his directorial talent through the film's success.

When it came to Lucky Bhaskar, Venky also presented the story to several Telugu actors, including Nani. However, it’s reported that Nani had reservations and decided not to take it up, as he felt that playing the father of a child again would feel repetitive after roles in Jersey and Hi Nanna. Venky then approached Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan, who agreed to the role, leading to the creation of Lucky Bhaskar. The film's positive response and box-office performance are now well-known. Dulquer has clearly won over Telugu audiences with Lucky Bhaskar, solidifying his "lucky" charm.
