Ananya Nagalla Responds to Casting Couch Question at Pottel Trailer Launch

At the Pottel movie trailer launch event, actress Ananya Nagalla faced a pointed question from a journalist, which has since gone viral on social media. The issue raised relates to the ongoing topic of casting couch, which has become a hot topic not only in the Telugu film industry but across various other film industries as well. Many actresses and women in the industry have openly shared their experiences and opinions on this issue.

During the Pottel trailer launch, a female journalist asked Ananya Nagalla the following:

Journalist: "Many Telugu girls are afraid to enter the film industry, and the reason is the casting couch. It’s a reality. In this industry, to get a chance as a heroine or actress, they first ask for 'commitment.' In other industries, they don’t ask this. Does your agreement also include such a commitment clause? Is it true that if you agree to the commitment, you get one remuneration, and if you don’t, the remuneration is different?"

Ananya Nagalla: "How can you ask with such certainty? What you are asking is very wrong. In every industry, there are both positives and negatives. But people only focus on the negatives. The industry isn’t how you are assuming it to be. I have never faced such an experience. Asking for commitment before offering a chance is 100% wrong. I’m speaking from my experience. What you’re thinking is wrong."

This exchange took place during a Q&A session at the Pottel trailer release event. The video of this conversation has since gone viral on social media.
