Ayyanna Patrudu Elected Unopposed as AP Assembly Speaker

Ayyanna Patrudu, a senior leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has been elected unopposed as the Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Assembly. The Assembly Secretary announced that Ayyanna Patrudu was elected unopposed as he was the only candidate nominated for the Speaker's position. He will officially assume the duties of the Speaker tomorrow on the second day of the Assembly session.

Today, the nomination papers for Ayyanna Patrudu were submitted by coalition leaders Pawan Kalyan, Nara Lokesh, Achchennaidu, Nadendla Manohar, Satyakumar, and Dhulipalla Narendra.

Ayyanna Patrudu has been a prominent leader in the Telugu Desam Party since its inception. He was first elected as an MLA from Narsipatnam in 1983. Having won seven times as an MLA and once as an MP, he has also previously served as a minister.
