YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's 2019 promises questioned by Chandrababu Naidu
Amaravati: Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has once again launched a sharp critique against YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Using the platform of Twitter, Naidu criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy concerning the promises made in the 2019 election manifesto. Chandrababu Naidu reminded the Chief Minister of his own words during the release of the 2019 manifesto, where Jagan had likened the manifesto to sacred texts like the Bible, the Quran, and the Bhagavad Gita, emphasizing the inviolability of the commitments made therein.
Naidu questioned Jagan's integrity by recalling his promise to enforce a total prohibition of alcohol in the state—a promise which remains unfulfilled. He highlighted Jagan's earlier statement that he would seek votes only after implementing prohibition, and contrasted it with the current situation where Jagan is gearing up to release the 2024 manifesto and seeking votes without having fulfilled his previous promises. This confrontation raises significant questions about the credibility of the promises made by Jagan Mohan Reddy as the state heads towards another election.
