AP CID Files Chargesheet in Skill Development Case
The Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today filed a chargesheet in a skill development case that has seen serious allegations against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu. The case is currently being heard in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada. The CID has named Chandrababu Naidu as accused number one (A1), followed by Achennaidu as A2, Ganta Subbarao as A3, and former IAS officer K. Lakshminarayana as A4 in its chargesheet. This is not the first instance of the CID filing a chargesheet against Chandrababu Naidu; he has been previously charged in cases related to FiberNet and assigned lands as well.
The allegations stem from a scam involving shell companies and the misappropriation of INR 241 crores during the tenure of the TDP government, under the guise of skill development. Following these allegations, CID officials registered a case under various sections against Chandrababu Naidu and arrested him.
After spending nearly two months in Rajahmundry jail, Chandrababu Naidu was released on October 31 last year.
