Y.S. Sharmila Takes on Alleged Murderer in Kadapa Lok Sabha Race
Y.S. Sharmila has been announced as the Congress Party's candidate for the Lok Sabha seat in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, by the party's high command today. Responding to her candidacy, Sharmila revealed her decision to contest from Kadapa on behalf of the Congress Party. She acknowledged that the decision was not easy, especially knowing it could divide her family.
Sharmila accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy of protecting those behind the assassination of her uncle, Vivekananda Reddy, thus endorsing political violence. She expressed her inability to tolerate the nomination of Avinash, whom she described as a murderer involved in her uncle's killing, emphasizing her determination to ensure his defeat in Kadapa as her primary goal.
Highlighting the use of Vivekananda Reddy's murder for political gains by the YSRCP in the previous elections, Sharmila stated her candidacy fulfills her uncle's wish for her to serve as Kadapa's MP. She appealed for the blessings of all people in her electoral journey.
