Errors in Telangana's 10th Grade Biology Exam Paper Cause Concern Among Students and Parents

Recent biology exams for the 10th grade in Telangana have been a source of concern for students and their parents due to errors found in the question paper. Specifically, two questions were ambiguously framed, leading many students to worry about losing marks as they were unable to provide the correct answers. Each of these questions was worth four marks, totaling a potential loss of eight marks.

In Section-2 of the question paper, question 5 asked, "Write about two artificial reproduction methods you have observed in your daily life, with examples," in English. However, the Telugu version asked for "two artificial vegetative reproduction methods," leading to confusion among English medium students who struggled to answer correctly.

Another question, intended to be aligned with the 4th standard of educational measurement as per the blueprint method, was framed contrary to this guideline, adding to the confusion among students. The District Education Officer (DEO) of Khammam, Somashekhar Sharma, has stated that this issue will be brought to the attention of subject matter experts and higher authorities following their recommendations.
