ACA Issues Show-Cause Notice to Hanuma Vihari Over Controversial Comments
The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has issued a show-cause notice to Team India Test cricketer Hanuma Vihari following his recent controversial comments about the organization. This notice was sent via email on the 25th of this month, following a meeting of the Apex Council. However, ACA sources mention that Vihari has not yet responded to the notice.
"We have sent a show-cause notice to Vihari and are waiting for his response. We want to understand why he reacted the way he did last month. This is an opportunity for him to explain his complaints. We acknowledge Vihari's significant contributions to the Andhra team's growth in domestic cricket," commented a representative of the ACA.
Vihari confirmed that he has replied to the notice, stating that he was treated unfairly and has requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play for another state team in the upcoming domestic season. He mentioned that he is awaiting a response from the ACA.
Following Andhra's loss to Madhya Pradesh in the quarter-finals on the 26th of last month, Vihari alleged that he was removed from captaincy duties due to political interference. His post on Instagram declaring that he would not play for Andhra again became sensational. He accused a political leader, who is also a player's father, of pressuring the ACA to take action against him for supporting the 17th player in the team. Vihari also posted a letter of support from his teammates and players.
