Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy Denies CM Ambitions, Criticizes BRS Over Water Issues
In an intriguing statement about the Chief Minister's position, Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy remarked, "Thinking I will become the Chief Minister is the epitome of foolishness." Speaking to the media on Thursday, he expressed his views candidly, mentioning that as a junior member of the Congress party, it would be impractical for him to aspire to the Chief Minister's role. He voiced his frustration about how people are speculating and writing about his political aspirations without basis.
Ponguleti confidently predicted that the Congress party would secure all 11 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, indicating a fierce competition in three of those. He speculated that the BJP might only win two seats, while the BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) could secure one or two. He humorously noted that the gates to the party were still closed, suggesting that opening them could potentially empty the BRS ranks. He criticized the BRS for making provocative statements against the Congress, aiming to destabilize the government.
He accused the previous BRS government of being responsible for the water scarcity in the state. Ponguleti also expressed concern over the potential danger to the entire Kaleshwaram project due to damage to three pillars in the Medigadda barrage, indicating a severe risk. He criticized the BRS for their mishandling of water storage in the Kaleshwaram project, indicating a flawed strategy.
