Vehicle Registration in Telangana: Now TG Instead of TS
The Central Government has issued a gazette notification changing the vehicle registration mark in Telangana to "TG" from the existing "TS". This amendment under Section 41(6) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, was released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Tuesday. The changes were made to a gazette issued on June 12, 1989, by the then government.
It is known that after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assumed office, the state decided to change the vehicle registration mark. The state government had forwarded this resolution to the Centre, leading to the issuance of the gazette notification by the Central Government. As a result, new vehicles in the state will henceforth be registered with the "TG" mark.
