Chiranjeevi Described as the Third Eye of Telugu Cinema by Venkaiah Naidu at Padma Awards Ceremony

Today, the Government of Telangana has organized a grand felicitation program for the recipients of the Padma Awards, the second highest civilian award in India. Among the attendees was the former Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu, who has been selected for the Padma Vibhushan award.

During the event, Naidu spoke about the new methodology adopted in selecting the awardees for the Padma Awards. He praised the central government for recognizing the "gems hidden in the soil" and awarding individuals who might not have received recognition otherwise.

He likened the legendary Telugu cinema actors NTR and ANR to two eyes of the Telugu film mother goddess and described Chiranjeevi, who has received the Padma Vibhushan, as the third eye. Naidu expressed his happiness over Chiranjeevi receiving the award, stating that one doesn't lose anything by working hard in their beloved field. He emphasized that with determination and effort, anything is achievable.

Naidu mentioned that he had not received many awards or honors in his life. "When the center said they are awarding me, I accepted it with respect for Modi," he clarified.

Furthermore, Naidu called for individuals in public life to adhere to values. He expressed concern over the recent events in the Parliament and state assemblies, describing them as distressing.
