Telangana Government to felicitate 'Padma' Award Winners Tomorrow
The Telangana government is set to felicitate the winners of the Padma Awards in a grand ceremony. The event is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the Shilpakala Vedika. Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and actor Chiranjeevi, both selected for the Padma Vibhushan, have been invited by Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao on behalf of the Telangana Government. Venkaiah Naidu was visited at his residence in Jubilee Hills, and Chiranjeevi at Annapurna Studios, where they were formally greeted and congratulated by the minister, who presented them with shawls and bouquets.
In addition to Venkaiah Naidu and Chiranjeevi, the state government will also felicitate Padma Shri awardees including veena musician Dasari Kondappa, Yakshagana artist Gaddam Sammaiah, literary figures Kurella Vithalacharya and Kethavath Somlal, and sculptor Satti Ananda Chary tomorrow. Minister Jupalli has instructed the officials of the Department of Culture to extend invitations to the Padma Shri winners on behalf of the state government.
