Rahul Gandhi exempted from personal appearance in court
Mumbai, Jan 7, 2015: The Mumbai High Court has exempted Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi from personal appearance in the Bhivandi court in a defamation suit filed against him by RSS leader Rajesh Kunte. The defamation suit was filed by Kunte after Rahul Gandhi had reportedly said in an election meeting last year that an RSS man had killed Mahatma Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi in his petition has sought quashing of the suit but the High Court has yet to deliver its orders on the petition. Bhivandi Court has served notice to Rahul Gandhi asking him to appear before it on Feb 17 in the case.
