34 students suspended for ragging in Rajendranagar vet university

Hyderabad, November 1: A total of 34 students were suspended from hostel over allegations of ragging first year students in PV Narasimha Rao Veterinary University. Of these, 25 students were banned from attending classes for two weeks. University officials ordered for a detailed probe into the incident.
 
According to sources, 25 junior students complained to the sealed box that second and fourth year students have harassed them in the name of ragging. The committee enquired the  juniors on October 27 and 2nd and 4th year students on October 28. Later the committee gave a report on October 29 that 34 students resorted to ragging.
 
The suspended students include 16 second year and 18 fourth year students. Based on the report, 25 students were suspended from hostel – A and also barred from attending classes for two weeks. Another nine students were banned from all hostels and also banned from travelling in college buses.
