Nayanthara surrogacy: TN Minster says no one will be spared if rules are violated

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government is investigating the case of film actress Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan couple giving birth to children through surrogacy. Minister for Health M Subramaniam has announced that the hospital that handled this case has been identified.

Speaking to the media during the inauguration of the Advanced Laparoscopy Surgery Fellowship Course jointly organised by MGM Hospital, Chulaimedu, Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (IAGES) and Chennai Hernia Society, at the Family Welfare Training Centre in Egmoor, the Minister said that the hospital that provided surrogacy to the Nayanthara couple has been identified.

 A three-member committee led by the Joint Director of the Health Department is probing the case.
He said that no one will be spared if they violated the rules in the case. He said that a report will be received within a week as to whether any violations have been committed or not. If necessary, the Nayanthara couple will be called for an investigation.
