I will resign as MP if Vizag railway zone not granted to AP: Vijayasai

Visakhapatnam, September 28: YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy on Wednesday said a section of media published false reports that the Railway Board Chairman denied railway zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters to Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters here, he stated that railway zone issue was not figured in the secretarial-level meeting held in New Delhi to resolve issues between states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The MP reiterated that the Central government would set up railway zone in Visakhapatnam. “If not, I ready to resign from member of Rajya Sabha post,” he said. Vijaysai revealed that laying railway line between Kovvur and Bhadrachalam came up for discussion in the meeting.

“Andhra Pradesh made it clear that the Centre has to bear entire cost as proposal was mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act,” he explained and criticised the Opposition parties for trying to spread lies among people based on false news reports.
