APSRTC employees to get govt salaries from Oct 1

Amaravati, September 22: As promised, the AP government merged AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) with the AP Public Transport Department (APPTD). From now onwards, the APSRTC employees will be recognised as government employees. 
 
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has agreed to implement the new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) scales to RTC employees from October 1. Employees are expressing happiness over the CM’s decision.
 
Leaders of various APSRTC unions had met Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was Leader of the Opposition during his padayatra and urged him to regularise RTC employees. He assured them that the APSRTC will be merged with the government body after YSRCP coming to power.
 
Employees will get a salary hike ranging from Rs 3,000 to 6,000 depending on the cadre. According to reports, RTC employees will be placed in 32 grades and there will be 83 stages. Meanwhile, the RTC is planning to introduce non-AC sleeper buses in busy routes.
