Chandrababu responsible for Polavaram delay, diaphragm wall damaged: CM Jagan

Amaravati, September 17: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday gave PowerPoint presentation on progress of Polavaram Project in the Legislative Assembly. He alleged that the TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for delay in completion of Polavaram Project as diaphragm wall was damaged because of his hasty decision. “Even, Chandrababu is unfit as MLA,” he stated.
 
The CM explained that compensation under Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) package to Polavaram displaced was increased to Rs 10 lakh after his government came to power. He showed the GO issued on June 20, 2021 to the Opposition TDP members in the House. 
 
“During the TDP regime, it was only Rs 6.86 lakh,” he recalled and added that works of relocating 14,110 oustees by spending Rs 19,060 crore are going at a brisk pace. He flayed Chandrababu for criticising the YSRCP government over delay in release of Rs 2,900 crore reimbursement from Centre spent on Polavaram by AP.
