Lokesh padayatra deferred to January next
Vijayawada, September 18: The schedule of the padayatra of TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh was changed. Lokesh planned to launch his padayatra from October 2. But later, the date is changed to January 26 next year.
A few months ago, TDP senior leaders felt that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will go for early elections and prepared plan of action accordingly. But now, the situation was changed and it seems that the CM is no mood going for early elections and would be held as per schedule only.
In this situation, Nara Lokesh planning to launch padayatra and to conclude with election campaigning. He will be walking for a total of 450 days from Chittoor to Srikakulam. The padayatra will commence in January 2023 and conclude in March 2024. It came to know that Lokesh will start the padayatra from Kuppam constituency.
Lokesh’s agenda would be the upcoming elections and will campaign against the YSRCP government. At the same time, he targeted the records set by YS Jagan with his padayatra. Jagan had toured in all 13 districts in the combined Andhra Pradesh as opposition leader. He created a record by doing padayatra in 134 constituencies in 341 days. He started his padayatra at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya and concluded at Ichhapuram in 2019 just before elections.
