RBI may replace Gandhi’s photo with PM Modi on currency notes: KTR

Hyderabad, September 16: Telangana Minister for IT and Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, expressed anger over renaming LG Medical College in Ahmedabad as Narendra Modi Medical College. In a tweet on Friday, KTR recalled that Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad was named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
 
The minister mentioned that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) may soon order to print Narendra Modi’s photo on currency notes in place of Mahatma Gandhi.
 
Recently, the Telangana Assembly passed a resolution to give name of Dr BR Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, to new Parliament building which is getting ready in national capital. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said on Thursday that he will write a letter to the PM urging him to honour resolution passed by Telangana. He mentioned that separate state for Telangana was granted because of Constitution drafted by Ambedkar.
