Queen Elizabeth II: This is Hyderabad Nizam's wedding gift to Queen Elizabeth!

Hyderabad: In 1947, Nizam of Hyderabad presented a very attractive platinum necklace studded with around 300 diamonds to Queen Elizabeth II of Britain as a wedding gift. It is known that the Queen passed away at the age of 96 on Thursday. In her honour, Sunday is being observed as a national day of mourning in our country.

Elizabeth II, who took over as Queen in 1952, received many valuable gifts during her reign. One of them is a platinum necklace set gifted by Nizam. It is made by the French luxury brand Cartier. Over 300 diamonds are encrusted in the necklace.

According to the royal family, Nizam had chosen Cartier to make the gift. The queen, Elizabeth had ordered a necklace set to be made with the design she had chosen. Queen chose this platinum necklace. 

There are many pictures of her wearing this necklace. She gave it to Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. Kate wore it to the National Portrait Gallery event in 2014. Also wore it to the Diplomatic Corps Reception in 2019.
