Reforms in education sector won’t burden govt teachers, assures CM Jagan

Vijayawada, September 5: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in Teachers’ Day celebrations held at A-Convention Centre here on Monday. He offered floral tributes to second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Every year, India celebrates Teachers’ Day on September 5. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that his government focused on school education in the last three years and introduced several reforms in education sector to make students of government schools to compete with anyone. “Decisions taken to improve standards in government schools are not meant to burden teachers,” he clarified.
 
Jagan Reddy mentioned that the AP government brought changes in school education to provide quality education to the poor. “No poor student should be deprived of best education,” he added. The CM said that they have been striving to improve student enrolment in government schools and increase literacy rate in the state. Later, he presented the 'Best Teacher Awards' to 176 teachers of government schools.
