Farmer dies of heart attack while fighting for land

Chittoor, Spetember 4: A farmer died while speaking with the officials over land issue, at Penumur Tahsildar office in Chittoor district on Saturday.
 
55-year-old farmer, Ratnam of Rajaindlu village, Ramakrishnapuram panchayat, Penumur mandal, was given lease in 1974 for the land in survey number 918/4. After Timmaraju Kandriga villagers raised objections over the allotment, Ratnam resorted district court in 2009 and the court gave permanent injunction order declaring that the land belongs to Ratnam.
 
Recently some pesons constructed pakka houses in Ratnam’s land. Ratnam again went to court. Four days ago, some people tried to level the remaining land and VRO stopped them. 
 
The same day, Ratnam explained the issue to Tahsildar Ramani and later dispute broke out between the farmer and a local people’s representative. Over this, the farmer fall sick and after getting treatment, he launched protest at Tahsildar office from Friday. 
 
While he was speaking with the officials over his land issue on Saturday, Ratnam suddenly fell. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared that he was dead.
 
Meanwhile, the victim’s family members alleged that their father was murdered.
