YSRCP never mentioned ‘liquor ban’ in manifesto: Gudivada Amarnath

Visakhapatnam, July 30: Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath on Saturday said that the YSRCP had never mentioned ‘alcohol ban’ in manifesto. Speaking to the media here, he stated that they have told to increase prices of liquor to that of equal to five-star hotels so that people will stop consuming.

The minister stated that his government removed 45,000 belt shops and reduced liquor shops from 4,500 to 2,900. “Even though, AP government is getting revenues same as five years ago but consumption reduced drastically,” he explained. To a question, Amarnath said that they have not given permission for new bars and liquor shops.
